I live in Anchorage, Alaska and I love being outside. Mountains, wild places, and the adventures found in nature feel like home. Originally from Boston, I grew up playing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire skiing, hiking, and climbing. A passion for nature took me west, then north. Summers in Denali and winters in Colorado carried me through graduate school. I have a Ph.D. in environmental philosophy and use the outdoors as my 'thinking laboratory' doing research and writing on the ethics of conservation and environmental change. I now teach as an Associate Professor at Alaska Pacific University.

Thanks for checking out my pictures and stories,

Alex
